Neighborhood:
The apartment is by the 4/6 tram line which encircles the inner city. It is also a stride away from the metro stops of Blaha (red metro) and Kalvin and Ferenc krt (blue line). The VIII District is traditionally the city's 'left bank' and the street where the apartment is situated was/is famous for its artists - almost every building has a plaque outside listing the famous artists who lived and/or worked inside and their studios are still roof top along the street. It is a bright leafy street too. The VIII district has gentrified to a degree, but it is still arty and interesting. The apartment is situated right beside the well-known Rakoczi ter fruit and vegetable covered market - it is a large, and beautifully designed market full of color and life and is also very local and not at all touristy. As for social life - at the end of this street is Mikszath Kalman square - which is brimming with cafes, art galleries, pubs and restaurants. This area is home to a number of universities (medical, economic, law and film) so there is quite a studenty young atmosphere and that means good nightlife.
